The human dynamic for requiring relationships is something very strange. There are so many different factors which go into how we become attracted to someone. Some people connect on an intellectual level while others are attracted to wealth, looks, power or sometimes just simply confuse lust with love.
Then you have people who have been conditioned to accept love from those who do not appreciate them as much as they should. Or accept the jealous behavior from their partner, not realizing that the jealousy does not come from what they are doing but from the insecurity their significant other has about their own self. These relationships seem to waste the most amount of time in our lives. When a person constantly tries to change for another only for them to continue to be jealous or unappreciative this is something that they cannot fix themselves. It is solely up to their partner to get over their own jealousy or to acknowledge their bad treatment of the other person.
Life is short. What are you doing with yours? Everyone you surround yourself with should be someone who has a positive impact on your life, and you should also be a positive impact on theirs. One of the hardest things you can do is to love yourself enough to know who to cut free from your life. This is not easy but it does get easier over time.
The whole reason I am writing about this is because I have a close friend (not in the photos) who allows people to treat her in many bad ways. Her boyfriend controls her. Her parents still think she could do better even though she has her masters degree. Her support system is made up of people who simply just want something from her. She talks to me on occasion and will ask me questions she already knows the answers to but she is desperately hoping that I will tell her something else, but we both know that isn’t the case.
I have known too many people who waste too many years of their lives trying to be someone they are not. This is your life. You’re not living it for anyone else and you don’t have to be what anyone else wants you to be. Be who you are, as long as you’re not hurting anyone else of course, but please make yourself happy. Because if you don’t make yourself happy nobody else will be able to make you happy either.
I say this all the time. Life is meant to be lived. Live it for you. Grow old with great memories of how you did everything you ever wanted to do! Live with no regrets and without compromising who you truly are. Be the best you there can be every chance you get! And always, love yourself. Love who you are and this will attract those who will also love who you truly are too!
